who is cerridwen?

Cerridwen is a figure from Welsh mythology, regarded as the Celtic goddess of wisdom, inspiration, and transformation. She is particularly associated with the themes of knowledge and witchcraft.
Cerridwen is known for her cauldron, which holds a magical potion that grants wisdom and poetic inspiration. This cauldron is symbolic of transformation and the creative process.

Her most famous story involves her son, Morfran, for whom she brewed a potion called AWEN for a year and a day in order to bestow profoud wisdom. However, a boy named Gwion Bach accidentally consumes some of the potion and gains extraordinary knowledge. Cerridwen in a rage pursues him, leading to a series of transformations until he is reborn as Taliesin, a legendary bard and poet.
Cerridwen represents the archetype of the wise woman or goddess, embodying the cycles of life, death, and rebirth. She is seen as a protector of the arts and a guide for those seeking knowledge.
Cerridwen's legacy continues in modern neopagan and Wiccan traditions, where she is often invoked for inspiration, creativity, and personal transformation.
